I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies My dear friend, as we begin this new month, know that no matter the kind of challenges that would come your way or the insecurities that you feel, or even the excruciating pain that you may have right now, if you raise a hallelujah wit all sincerity heaven will surely come to fight for you. The lyrics of the song speaks of the potency of praise & worship it reveals to us that darkness has no hold over our lives. Every time we praise God, see it as a step of faith that not only make you look beyond your present circumstances but also an avenue to thank God for who He is, what He has done and what He will do. Time after time, it has been proven beyond reasonable doubts that praise & worship is a weapon that you can use to completely shut out the devil and its efforts because there would be no room for negativity if praise is the only thing on your lips when you go through a storm. God being God came through for them, the moment they decided to raise a hallelujah. As the health of the child deteriorated, they were left with no other weapon but the weapon of praise and worship so they decided to engage the devil with this weapon. A member of the band was having a hard time because of an ailing child and everyone in the community had to pray for the miraculous restoration of health. This song was birthed from the place of distress and total trust in God. If you have never listened to any song from my “Song of The Week Category”, I urge you to listen to this one, I promise it’s going to be something you’d love even if you are not a fan of Bethel Music. After about 1:09 secs into the song, I was awe-struck by the testimony that prompted the song. I immediately switched my interest to the song because it was from one of my favourite band and I wanted to hear what message they had for me again. Sometimes in January during one of my usual YouTube watching spree, I stumbled on a song by Bethel Music titled “I raise a Hallelujah”.
